Kalae at Ward Village distinguishes itself through thoughtful design by world-renowned architects and interior designers. Here's what makes Kalae's design unique.

Architecture and Design Team

Kalae was designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz (SCB) as the architect, with interior design by Nicole Hollis of NICOLEHOLLIS, Inc., a San Francisco-based firm honored in the 2024 Architectural Digest Top 100. Recent Hawaii projects by NICOLEHOLLIS include Kona Village and 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay. VITA Planning & Landscape Architecture (Don Vita) serves as the landscape architect.

Design Inspiration

Kalae's design is drawn from early Hawaiian architecture and iconic local landmarks - Shangri La, the Halekulani Hotel, and the Honolulu Museum of Art - representing Honolulu's international influences while grounded in regional aesthetic.

Interior Finishes

Residences feature 9-foot floor-to-ceiling windows, wide plank oak wood engineered flooring, and modern fixtures with light and dark finish options. All units include Sub-Zero appliances and Juliet balconies in living rooms with open floor plans.
